Xtend Barre

Xtend History & Philosophy
The Xtend Workout is the premier ballet barre workout… Dance and Pilates Amplified. Andrea Rogers is the creator and owner of the Xtend Workout and has been a professional dancer and choreographer since the age of 18. She’s performed with various celebrities and recording artists such as Enrique Iglesias and Aaron Carter. She’s also traveled the country with several professional dance companies and performed as a principal dancer for Walt Disney World Co. In the early 2000s, Andrea was certified to become a classical Pilates instructor. She believed in the Pilates principles (stabilization, concentration, control, flow, breath and precision) and observed the long-term results in her Pilates clients.
In an effort to provide cross training and seek better results for her clients, she began to incorporate dance elements and music into her Pilates sessions in order to offer challenges in coordination, rhythm, and cardiovascular fitness. By raising her Pilates clients to a vertical position, and diversifying their range of motion, Andrea found greater results by offering Xtend than by maintaining a routine of Pilates alone.
The Xtend philosophy is simple. We teach a multi-level class geared to challenge bodies of any age, gender, or fitness background. We offer exercises that can be modified for beginners, prenatal clients or clients with injuries, but that can also be amplified for advanced clients that are looking for an extreme challenge. NO DANCE EXPERIENCE NECESSARY – not even co-ordination required.
The Xtend system sculpts the body proportionally so that all body parts are equally challenged. This total body workout serves to strengthen, lengthen, and stretch the body from top to bottom, from inside out. The end result is a long and lean physique… without added bulk. Developed from a dance / Pilates background, the Xtend workout combines the amazing results of dance with the principles of strength and safety in Pilates.
The Xtend workout has been sought after by national spa and fitness centers and Pilates devotees from the US, Brazil and Canada. Clients range from new enthusiasts to seasoned fitness pros and include men, women, teens, Pilates practitioners, professional athletes, celebrities, and dancers. The Xtend method is best summarized by a long-time client: “If Pilates sculpts your body, Xtend ™ chisels it.”
