The Instructors

Founders: Michelle Koton and Debby-Lee Maister

“ We are both passionate about the ability of the Pilates method to help stretch and strengthen muscles and to build and maintain spinal flexibility. We genuinely trust the system to be a client’s greatest insurance policy for longevity and quality of life!”

Both Michelle Koton and Debby-Lee Maister trained in Sydney under the instruction of Cynthia Lochard (Master Trainer).

Their Internationally recognized certification was awarded by Romana Kryzanowska, noted by Joseph Pilates himself in his book “Return to Life”, as his most “conscientious disciple”.

Their teaching style is passionate and committed.

Each session is designed to be different from the previous session, whilst aiming at all times to be specific to the particular needs and goals of each individual.

They are continually learning new skills in an effort to enhance the experience of their clients.

Beth Borowsky

Beth Borowsky

Beth’s love for movement and dance began at 5 years old when she enrolled in her first ballet class. Dancing throughout her school years, it was only a matter of time before she began her yoga journey. She has been practising for over 20 years.

In 2005, life changes and circumstance brought her to practice yoga in a more serious way, and so began a journey of a whole other kind – the one where yoga is your life…

Trained in early childhood and Montessori teaching, she decided to travel to New York to study Kids Yoga, and returned to Sydney to start KarmaKidsYoga – a kids’ yoga business where she teaches children from 3 years old through to high school.

In 2006 she completed the Power Vinyasa Training with Nicole Goodwin and Wade Imre Morrissette. Since completing this 200 hour teacher training she has continued to develop her skills and knowledge by studying Shiva Rae’s Prana Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training and Energetic Hands –On Alignment with Twee Merrigan, Functional Assessment and Assessing the Energy Systems and Chakras with Mark Breadner, Pranayama in Yoga Therapy with Sindar Kaur and Prenatal Teacher Training with Marie-Louise Parkinson.

As well as teaching at BodyMindLife, Bondi Pilates and Yogamama, she offers private and small group tuition in people’s homes or offices through her adult yoga business JustBreatheYoga.

Beth’s classes are designed to inspire her students to experience moving meditation – where their yoga practice flows effortlessly and creates a balance between strength and inner calm.

Her ideal class is where students allow themselves to flow freely and effortlessly through the sequence, energised by their breath and inspired by the music. She does not believe that a yoga practice should be a continuation of one’s busy, stressful day, but the contrary…. a time to suspend, withdraw and savour the movements, the pulsation and the magic created on the mat.

She believes that yoga is for ‘every body’, and is committed to guiding her students mindfully through their practice, to ensure that they honour their body – its strengths and weaknesses – to prevent injury, and so build stamina, balance and inner calm.

Caitlin Ryan

Caitlin Ryan - Pilates teacher

Caitlin began her Pilates journey in 2003 through the support and encouragement of her mother, who is also a Pilates teacher.  She completed her comprehensive Pilates certification training through the PhysicalMind Institute as she was completing her B.A. in Psychology from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

After spending a couple years teaching in Vancouver, Caitlin relocated to Paris France, where she also became a Registered Yoga Teacher. Having also studied Reiki (level 3) Caitlin has a very holistic, intuitive approach to her teaching, and she has been fortunate to teach all types of clientele, from the elderly, to professional athletes, from  Oscar nominated actresses to children.

Since arriving in Sydney, Caitlin has also completed STOTT Pilates Intensive Reformer training, and will soon complete her Xtend Barre teacher training.  “I’m so excited to be living in working in Sydney, sharing Pilates’ genius with yet another part of the world!”

Kimberley Ciszewski

Kimberley hails from the U.S. where her childhood was dedicated to her ballet studies and musical theatre performances. Throughout her university life, Kimberley’s passion for dance grew and so teaching and choreography became her new skills.

After graduating with her Master’s in Social Service Administration and spending a few years in the work force, Kimberley got married and had her first child.

With her passion for dance and fitness, Kimberley was drawn to the discipline of Pilates and became a certified Stott Pilates Mat and Reformer instructor.

The Xtend Barre method has provided Kimberley with another avenue in which she can explore her passion for the combination of both the physical and the mental side of health and fitness.

“I love the depth and integrity of the Xtend Barre method. The smaller and tighter the movement, the more chiseled and defined the results. Remember…still waters run deep!”

Kirsty Cutting

Kirsty Cutting

Kirsty began dancing at the age of 4, as a student in her mother’s London-based dance studio. So passionate about dance, Kirsty dedicated her life to years of committed training in London and eventually in New York.

Working as a dancer, she explored life as a Ballerina and Jazz dancer and eventually qualified as a teacher of these disciplines.

Incorporating her dance background with her passion for Pilates has been a natural progression for Kirsty, as each system embody the same principles of grace, form and technique.

“I look forward to teaching people that exercise does not have to separate the body from the soul; in fact it should unite the two. Learning to move with strength and grace in your own body is the ultimate goal in my training. It is a gift that every body can achieve! See you in class”

Mandi Wainer

Mandi trained to be a Pilates instructor in South Africa and became a graduate of the Body Arts and Science Pilates (BASI) method.

BASI Pilates preserves the legacy of Joseph Pilates, while complementing its method with contemporary scientific knowledge.

With her in depth knowledge of the body, Mandi is able to design individualised and specialised programs for each of her clients, depending on their specific needs and goals.

She is passionate about Pilates and truly believes that this form of movement embodies the saying “healthy body, healthy mind” and that the effort carried out in the studio will be rewarded within your everyday life.

Chloe Dallimore

Chloe Dallimore
Chloe began practising Pilates in 1993, after a serious accident threatened her dancing career.

Rehabilitated through a combination of physiotherapy and Pilates inspired work, Chloe was motivated to learn more about ways in which she could help others achieve maximum results from their bodies.

Qualified with Alan Menezes as a Pilates instructor, Chloe has now been teaching the method for over 10 years.

Xtend Barre is the perfect balance for her between the performance quality of a dancer and the necessary precise technique of a Pilates instructor.

“Suffice to say that incorrect habits are responsible for most of our ailments. Equally true is the statement that only through proper education is it possible to replace bad habits with good ones….(and so)…one can be assured of regained health and renewed happiness.” JOSEPH PILATES
